Tweede plaats Legacy photography awards
The photograph stands out because it goes beyond
a simple portrait and creates a complete, almost mythical character. The floral crown, clothing, pose and water lilies give the impression of a nymph emerging from the water.

The posing is elegant and natural, with the expression and hand gesture creating a sense of movement and connection with the water. The lighting is another major strength, balancing highlights, reflections and shadows without losing detail in the subject.

The strong green tones and reflections in the water create a rich, immersive environment, while the depth of field keeps the model as the clear focus. Overall, the character, styling, setting, lighting and colours work together very cohesively to create a beautiful, dreamlike world rather than just a conventional portrait.
